Caught in the Act..!!!!
As a grown man, there are certain things you do that you really don't want your wife to walk in on.
I now have to add a new item to that list. Women's Curling
This is a shot of Deb McCormick, the skipper of the American team.
I have a history with curling, actually. My dad was a curler from his earliest years. One of the favorite (or should I say "favourite") family photos was a studio shot of a mens curling team (rink) in wool jackets, fedoras, brooms and no smiles. The youngest on the team was my father at age 16 (that would put it in 1929). He was joined by his dad and two uncles.
My dad curled his whole life. By the time I was old enough to remember anything, we lived in Denver, and Dad was a member of the DCC (Denver Curling Club). Unfortunately, they had to curl on ice that was also used by hockey players, and that makes for some interesting curling. One of the favourite places to play was at the Broadmoor in Colorado springs because they had their own ice that never saw a skate blade.
My mom also curled and they competed in mixed (men & women) competition. I gave it a try a few times, but never got too interested.
My dad always said that curling was the world's largest non-professional sport. He also was an advocate of having it in the olympics. He died in 1977, but would've been quite happy to see it finally become an olympic sport.
Knowing Dad, he probably could've been caught watching women's curling by himself, too.
Power Push
These pics of my son playing in his last game aren't great quality but, I was excited that I figured out how to take them in manual mode. The lighting in our rink is horrible! Some bulbs are new and some are very old so it's spotty at best. My son played awesome Monday night and, being the proud parent I had to post a few "Bragging" shots, no matter how bad the quality was, lol.
This goalie technique is had to master for young goalies. The muscles you use to do this are under-delveoped at this age, so it really takes a lot of work for these young kids. I was so proud when he got that power leg up there to quickly change directions to slide to the other side of the crease without getting to his feet. Way to go Lane!!!!
